Getting there...

Hello lovely people,

I thought I would come share a positive post. I have an appointment for my endoscopy and colonoscopy next Wednesday. I'm so relieved I'm going to be able to stop eating wheat/gluten!

Nervous about the colonoscopy. Embarrassing or wha. Also the prep sounds awful. The nurse told me to just think of it as a good cleanse. Eek!

Feeling rotten atm but trying to stay positive and focus on the little positives in my days.

Anyway that's all from me for now!

Hey good luck MariaMe and of course you’re apprehensive and we’ve all been there so know how important it is. And as you rightly say you’re looking forward to being gluten free so roll on Thursday.

You’re in good hands as this is a standard procedure so if you’re nervous tell them as they give you a local anaesthetic and want you to be comfortable.

So good luck and let us know how you get on.

Jerry 😊

Hi MariaMe,That is great news. Thanks for sharing. Hooray to going gluten free soon and on the road to recovery.

I had colonoscopy last week. Yes, there’s going and fro’ing prior back to the toilet. Vaseline/coconut oil is a recommend as you can get sore from all the wiping. The gastroenterologist knows I meditate and do yoga so I was in my own dreamland - didn’t even notice that the colonoscopy was done and dusted. So, like you say focusing on the little positives.

😊

That's good news!Don't worry about the procedures - they will be over before you know it, and the stuff they gave me (sedative? can't remember) made sure that I didn't remember any of it afterwards!

The prep is the worst bit - and for me, the not eating was worse than the "clearing out", which was less bad than I expected!

Onwards and upwards after that!

It soon passes and you can come off gluten. Big hug 😊

Upwards, and onwards, so to speak! That's good news. You'll have some answers soon. Keep us posted.
