May is Coeliac Awareness Month.

Good morning folks,

This month is coeliac awareness month in many countries so here's a link to G.I.G. the Gluten Intolerant group of N America with some interesting links. It's also interesting to see how other countries see a gluten free diet especially as we have varying standards across the world with Australia and NZ. Having the most robust standards with 3ppm and none of the forbidden grains including oats.

As HealthUnlocked were recently taken over and are now US owned here's a link to G.I.G.'s Awareness Month and their goals and objectives as I really like their gluten free certification scheme as it would be nice too encourage more of our US friends on the communities.

Please see:

In my world if it isn't gluten free then it isn't gluten free regardless of allowed levels of gluten in foods in the UK. 🌎

There is a UK Gluten free awareness week later this month but I've seen nothing regarding whats planned and a month of raising awareness is better.

Excellent post Jerry and I totally agree with you that if it's not GF it isn't GF. I think the UK are totally wrong on this one, no level of gluten should be allowed. I'd definitely go by the exacting standards of Australia and New Zealand.

A well worded post Jerry.

Thank you for this link Jerry - I have just spent some interesting time reading the website (more time than I intended!). They seem to have a more helpful attitude than the UK lot!

I completely agree with you that gluten free needs to mean gluten free!

Thanks Jerry, and thank you for the links. Yes, if it ain't free of gluten, it ain't gluten free. Let's all break free of the CUK cult-thinking and get ourselves healthy and happy. Happy GF awareness month to you and all.
