Hi everyone,

After Bens post I've been thinking and read Cynthia Kupper's bio and it's very impressive as Cynthia gave up her job to be their CEO for no salary and now they are involved with the envious GFCO. Gluten free certification program.

Here's the GIG team.

I'm not sure how many of you are members on the HealthUnlocked latest community but here's about the takeover of HU in October and their new owners are the US company Corrona and I've noticed more of our US friends joining when in fact HU membership has grown from 1.3 million to 1.5 million in 2 months so I imagine we will be getting more of our US friends joining and I welcome that as that its the power of social media.

Here's a link about the takeover of HU:

Hi Jerry

I haven't read Ben's post but I've now read Cynthia's biog which is impressive, that's dedication and isn't it good to have someone at the helm who understands what it's like to experience the sometimes difficulty in following a GF diet.

I've also re-read the article on the takeover of HU. I've certainly noticed an increase in members from the USA which is really good.

HU is an excellent platform, it's certainly helped me a lot and I know I'm not alone.

Thank you for Sharing.

Enjoy your evening.

Hi Alicia, I agree and have nothing but respect for her and her team. I really like their GFCO and that is international as they have GFCO registered eateries throughout Europe. HU is international so we might as well benefit from one another because that's what the HU platforms are for and do so well.

Have a great evening Alicia and I hope storm Bella isn't too bad for you tonight. πŸ’¦πŸ‘πŸ˜Š

She deserves total respect and shows her passion for what she believes in and that she wants to help people. I agree that we can benefit from one another which is what HU is all about, we can help each other.

Hope you had a good evening and are sleeping soundly now. Storm Bella is showing her true colours here as of course being right on the coast so we are sitting it out for a while.πŸŒ€

This is very interesting. I'm aware GIG have a better/lower threshold for gluten in their food accrediation, and now seeing products in UK that have their rating. Also interesting that Health Unlocked has been taken over by a US company. I was under impression Health Unlocked was run/managed by NHS originally, but I could be wrong. It would be nice if they re-introduced the 'Adminstrator' function so there is occasional professional input if people have challenging queries. Thank you for updating on this.

I thought that you would like this Ben. You are right in that HU have partners and many of these are from the NHS. Often these partners will have the same user name as the community and will be an admin.

The way the communities work is they are free for us and in return health information is collated anonymously so its works for everyone the more we chat the more info is collated and we get these great communities.

If you want the countries with the least gluten in gluten free foods then thats Australia and NZ as they have undetectable gluten of 3ppm and none of the forbidden grains. They also have to label wheat derivatives and they have to be below 3ppm.

Now Australia is a big wheat grower so they have many wheat derivatives that in the US are made with corn as corn is grown in the US and corn is easily turned into dextrose so its cheaper. So when we get down to these small amounts of gluten there are advantages to both Australia and the US. When they are not even on our radar in the UK.

Here's a link to CSA and their definition of a gluten free diet, please see:
