Has anybody found a good bread recipe for use in breadmakers. I have tried two so far without success.
Bread recipe.: Has anybody found a good... - Gluten Free Guerr...
Bread recipe.
I don’t know if Udi is in your area but they make a very nice gluten free bread.
I’ve tried breadmaker breads with various amounts of success.
350ml water
add:
2 egg whites
2 heaped tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp white wine vinegar
6 tbsp olive oil
mix like mad and tip into breadmaker
add 450g gf white bread flour on top of liquid in breadmaker (i use Doves farm)
add 1 tsp xanthum gum and 2 tsp dried yeast on top of flour
cook on gluten free mode in bread maker
It's lovely first day, and great for toast for a couple of days after
Tilly, thank you for the recipe, I will give it a try. Is that correct no yeast? I have just made a loaf using brown rice flour and potato starch, not too bad. Hubby needs to try it as he is the one with CD.
Tilly, silly me didn’t read it properly. Thanks again.
it's more like crumpets than traditional bread, but really nice anyway. This is an adaptation of the one on the back of the doves farm gf white bread - can;t remember quite what I tweaked now. I know in the past I didn't need to add the xanthum gum, then changed bread makers and did need it. Go figure good luck x
Actually got a thumbs up for the loaf I just made. Would you like recipe?
ooh yes please!
Beat one egg plus one egg white together with warm water...total 430grams
60 ml melted butter
1 tsp cider vinegar
300grams brown rice flour
100 grams potato starch
50 grams skimmed milk powder....Optional..I didn’t use it
1 tbsp Xanthan gum
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tsp yeast
I mixed everything apart from yeast, flour and potato starch together and put in bread mixer, then added flour and starch and put the yeast into the dispenser on bread maker. My machine does all the mixing from now on. My fourth try and think I have got a reasonable loaf. Will give your recipe a try later this week.
thank you! I need to branch out a bit - I love this white one, but really loved a good wholemeal before diagnosis and yours sounds closer
