So I got my blood tests back. Apparently the coeliac one came back as normal.. but my other blood test was showing high belerubin levels again. I’ve been recently hospitalised and been off work for a few weeks feeling so unwell. The receptionist told me “my blood test was adnormal but that’s to be expected” expected of what exactly? I feel like I’m back to square one. Coeliac Showed in my blood as a teenager. It can’t just disappear when I’ve been on a gluten diet for all these years? I’m completely baffled. Does this make sense to anyone?

You needed to be eating gluten for at least one meal everyday, for at least 6 weeks prior to the blood test - did you do this? A Coeliac blood test could definitely give a false negative to gluten if you didn’t (because your body would have no need to make the gluten antibodies being tested for!).
My last routine test was completely ‘normal’. So normal in fact, that the doctor checking the results mistakenly thought that I didn’t have Coeliac Disease (and I definitely know that I do!).
Also, are you aware that you can be gluten intolerant without being a coeliac? Coeliac Disease is just one branch of a number of gluten disorders.
I was until I had about 4 days when I wasn’t eaten and I was nill by mouth in hospital, that was the week before my test too. Even up to my test I wasn’t eaten a whole lot but ate things like pasta and weetabix.
I’ve tested positive for it before that’s the frustrating thing! But I’ve been told no further action will be taken and I have to wait a month to see a doctor again. It’s all just a bit of a mess really!
I have done two celiac blood tests within two years, both came back negative.
I have ongoing stomach problems and have done forever. GP thinks IBS but who knows. Someone recommended an illumination diet called Whole30 (look it up it’s long winded to explain) and I’ve completed it and reintroduced gluten today and it’s the only thing that’s caused my body to effect in a negative way. I now know it’s definitely gluten that’s caused me all this pain. I’ve heard you can have negative blood tests for this so I would recommend anyone looking at whole30 if your sick and feel like there’s never any answers
