Hello all. I have suffered with IBS type symptoms for 20 years. I’ve had a long spell of flare up in the last couple of years and have been back and forth to my GP. I have had 2 coeliac blood tests over 3 years and they both came back negative. However, I have played around with my diet a lot over the years and tbh, I can not remember if I was eating gluten or not when I have had these tests done.
I would really like to ask for a repeat test just to make sure. I am eating gluten at the moment although not copious amounts, how much would one need to consume to show up on the blood test? Anyone know? Thanks.

Not sure how much for blood test but i do know it is possible to still have with a negative blood result. Have the doctors not done endoscopy? This with a biopsy may show positive.
Hi angel74, I did have an endoscopy and biopsy 15 years ago which was negative but again not sure if I was gluten free then. I am waiting for another endoscopy to come through.
I have IBSC had to testing to see if gluten could bother it. My doctors just said try it so I did. I felt so much better and my IBSC IS in control more when I stay off gluten. Now that not to say every once in a great while I can have a little amount of gluten and be fine
So my advice to you is just listen to your body. I have what I call stomach being sensitive days and on those days I stay away from it.
Lord, teach this person his/her body and show her doctors what to do.
I am on the low FODMap deit and have done very well one out.expext one thing trying to eat with family and friends,it is so different to find things you can eat
