Sweet potato with oozing milk

hi everyone,

I’ve been eating sweet p in small quantities for a while and it was ok. Usually purple though. Last time i had this regular (orangeish) sweet p, and when i cut it, these white dots of milk started to appear(usually don’t) Google says, it’s totally harmless etc, but it’s one of the suspects for what might have thrown me off quite a bit after a longish period of being balanced. Might it act as a laxative? Hints at an increase in sweet p. s already existant fodmap content?

I just wanted to ask your opinion as always. Thanks a lot.

No idea. I eat sweet potatoes occasionally, skins and all, microwave them like baked potatoes so I don’t add anything else for the cooking process. They seem fine. I’ll use mayo for a topping.

It’s just the plant sap coming out of the cuts. It’s just sweet potato starch.

Perhaps your problem is the amount of sweet potato?

I had adjusted the amount. It may have been something totally different. Or that milk and an increased mannitol content may have a correlation between them.

Late edit, assumption above (made by me) wasn’t true. Reason was different. You were right. Just to note.

Glad to hear that you worked it out.

Remember that the natural sugar in the potato itself has a laxative effect, as well as the fiber in it.

It does alright. Consumed amounts are always critical for me.
