Can Lexapro (Escitalopram) suddenly start to give you side effects, even if I’ve been on them for years without side effects ?

I stated taking Lexapro around 6 years ago with no problems , for the last couple of years I have been having a generally unwell feeling , stomach discomfort , nausea and tiredness which doctors can’t seem to find a answer for. Could the Lexapro do this ?

It is possible to get a bad reaction to different fillers in tablets. If your prescription is generic -not the brand name- then the manufacturer can put any fillers they like in them.

Is this your only medication? Or have you added any medications since starting this one? You might run it by your pharmacist too if you haven’t already.

I had some “Pharmacogenomic Testing” (via mouth swab, runs a couple hundred dollars in the states) that showed some antidepressants that I had a increased risk on not responding to as well as other ones based on my genotype. Although many doctors do not feel this has been validated enough yet, if it confirms how you feel in my opinion that is validation enough!
