What to do when you eat gluten by mistake?

Hi,

I happened to me last week that I woke up on a holiday house and someone came to me with a breakfast and I ate it without thinking, including 3 bites of sponge cake (madeleine).

When I realized what I did and stopped:

- I tried to vomit it --I couldn't

- I drank lots of water all day,

so I had a gas week afterwards.

But seriously, what to do when it happens? what could help? I haven't done a mistake before, I was really scare of what it could make to me.

Just bloating was not nice but I was relief there was not pain.

Hi

Drinking a lot of water is probably one of the best things you can do. I also find that ginger tea, or sliced ginger root in hot water, can help settle your tummy. Charcoal tablets seem to help some people, but not everyone.

We can all make mistakes when it comes to gluten in food, one mistake is not going to do a lot of damage. Hope you feel better soon.
