Hi after being to the doctors numerous times and eventually eliminating gluten and keeping a food diary of introducing it on the odd occasion and symptoms she’s agreed I need the blood test. The only problem I now have is that I will need to eat enough gluten for 6 weeks before I can have it.
I’m reluctant to start eating it again because of the symptoms I get. But how much do I need to be eating each day for the best chance of a reliable result?
Thanks

Hi Barbie84, it's called the gluten challenge because eating gluten when you have found it gives distressing symptoms is certainly challenging. I ate just one piece of bread each day and my appointment arrived so I was only on the gluten for a little over 3 weeks. I worried that it was not enough but it turned out that it was enough to produce a coeliac diagnosis in my case. Apparently my blood test also showed strong coeliac antibodies. It's just a time to be got through and the biscuit I had with my post procedure cup of tea was the last gluten I knowingly ate. Best wishes. Diane 😃
