Glutened by costa

Hi guys just a quick reminder to be extra careful with “festive” drink options i went for the praline latte today thinking praline is normally nuts,sugar etc and gf but made a stupid mistake of not double checking! And now facing the consequences. Anyone else even after being a few years of gf still get caught out by gluten being a surprise ingredient where you didnt expect? Wish everything could be obviously labelled.

I glutened my OH with almonds by mistake once! We had eaten most of the bag, before I happened to spot it on the ingredient list... Not even "may contain", it was an ingredient!

Costa, in my experience, are not great at listing their Ingredients for the staff to find and their staff don't seem to know about allergens either.

I thought you meant the cruise line, Costa. Have no idea what costa is.

Glucose syrup used in most confectionary is derived from wheat. Jury is out as to weather the amount can impact us. If highly sensitive best to avoid it. Many ice cream manifactures use wheat based thickeners. Always check!!

Yes costa is also a big cross contamination issue, i only have a cup of tea from costa but im finding on the 3 occassions that ive had a drink there i do not feel very well afterwards....stopped going there now, maybe cups not cleaned enough or glutenised hands from holding the rim of cup? Best to avoid.xx
