I have been facing one issue for a long, long time.i am exercise freak and10 k every day. But when it comes ingesting food, I feel full after a few bites. Some say that the food doesn’t travel down to my stomach fast enough. This process keeps me undernourished.at the same time, my stomach stays bloated.I am totally confused and frustrated.

Any advice

The trouble could be at the other end of your gut. Are you constipated? This can happen if you have irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) where you can have alternate bouts of constipation and diarrhoea. In some people diarrhoea predominates, in others it's constipation.

IBS often occurs alongside gluten sensitivity, so you might benefit from avoiding gluten. I assume that you are already doing this since you are on this thread. So, in your case, laxatives may be the answer. If this doesn't work don't hesitate to see your GP since you could have a partial or complete blockage of the gut, which may need surgery.

Hi Multan

It would be a good idea to talk to your doctor about this.

If you feel that you can only eat a little at a time, make sure that it is good quality nourishing food, perhaps something like a soup.

Having a bloated stomach may mean that you are eating something that doesn’t agree with you. Dairy foods can be a problem for coeliacs.

Hi Multan, have you thought about keeping a food and symptoms diary? It might be what you are eating. I have problems with other foods, in addition to gluten, and keeping a diary has helped identify where the problem is. Good luck!
