I just wanted to thank everyone on this forum for all the help they have given me over the last 18 months or so.
Regulars may remember me asking about my son who was finally diagnosed with coeliac disease just over 18 months ago.
I despaired that he would ever feel well and get back to being his old outgoing self, and whilst he is not quite there yet I wanted to let you know that he has just started his year abroad at a European university, he is studying his subject in a foreign language and for the first time in about 3 years he is actually socialising and enjoying himself.
He is careful about his diet but has his coeliac disease well under control, I could weep with relief as I was worried he would never go back to uni never mind undertake his year abroad, so to all those who gave advice and support I just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU you don't realise how important you are. To those who are beginning your journey with coeliac disease or supporting someone who has it, come here and ask questions, the support, freely given by those who have experienced similar problems to yours is invaluable and heartwarming.
