Does anyone feel that pollen affects their coeliac symptoms?

No, but giving up gluten stopped me having hay fever! I had had it badly for over 40 years. I gave up gluten nearly two years ago and now I don’t get hay fever. I get the odd sneeze but that is all

Hi

Thanks for that. I'll be interested to see if I notice any improvement but definitely feel pollen is making my symptoms worse at the moment. Fingers crossed this will change.

My OH had very bad hayfever, but this year, he's hardly been affected (and everyone has been saying this was the worst year they've ever had). He was glutened a few weeks back, and his hayfever flared though.

They say auto-immune disease starts in the gut though, and hayfever is an autoimmune disease, so if your gut is healing, that will help you.

Thank you. I'm just trying to find out as much as possible re my symptoms since being diagnosed. It's reassuring to know I'm not the only one dealing with this.

When you say diagnosed, is it a recent thing? Because it will take time for your gut to heal! Total healing can take a few years.

Yes only a few weeks ago but as medics don't think my symptoms are coeliac related I'm interested to hear if others suffer too. Chest congestion, cough and spasm plus pins and needles in left hand. Most annoying though is adrenaline rush feeling whilst sitting relaxing!

I think my OH had a spell after going GF where he felt worse before getting better. I think it's while your body heals and detoxes, so anything else you're fighting off just now will probably be amplified. If you still feel rubbish in a week or so (or if you get worse) see your GP.
