Before I was diagnosed, it was my lungs which suffered far more than my stomach. I had a dreadful chronic cough for 20 yrs &'they did all the tests going but didn't know what caused it. It got so bad, I knew it was going to give me a heart attack one day as my diaphram would go into spasm & I couldn't breathe for a while - so horrendous & frightening. So decided to be my own health detective & to cut a long story short, turned out to be coeliacs! Who knew!! My cough as well as other things are a thousand times better but now other foods like dairy will also make me cough, so I have to watch the level of those I eat too. Always careful in the Winter as my lungs are my nemesis. I use lots of vit C, NAC & Enterosgel in the Winter, helps hugely.
