Fed up now

My endoscopy referral has been cancelled because of two failed attempts and I now have itchy skin everywhere (pic is one elbow). I am seeing the consultant in three weeks so will see what is said then.

It could be dermatitis hepitiformus - not sure thats correct spelling its often a side effect of having mistakenly having gluten for gf people. Do not give up gluten foods until you have had your appt but keep a pic of the rash on your phone to show. My elbows were the first place my gastro wanted to look when i mentioned that i thought it was milk doing it and not being glutened. I get mine on my neck, and thankfully not as bad as yours is looking.

Thank you for your response Lisahelen. I will be taking lots of photos :-( It's horrible. It turns out that I've probably had this on and off for 30+ years (I'm now 44) along with stomach issues. It's currently on my elbows, scalp, back of neck, front of neck, face, back, stomach and chest

Hi hun. So sorry to hear about this. I have skun irritation and break out all the time and was told it could be linked with my condition especially when its the time of the month it becomes worse.

Keep a record of it photos days time ect and on your photos i know some photo apps you can write on them so date them when you've taken the photo that way its easier keeping track of them. I even printed mine out some doctors keep odd ones for their records and i feel thry take it more serious when they see the photo rather than just on the phone.

When you have flare ups keep track of time, what material/clothing you have on but also time of the month if you are ovulating, due to turn ect, what food and drinks you have had. Any products you've used as well. Think of soap, body spray ect but also what washingpowder/liquids and fabric clothes conditioner you're using.

Ive had to change all my laundry and cleaning stuff just to help.

Good luck with your appointment and i hope they sort it x
