What Now ?

After years of problems I asked my GP to test for celiac's but he refused so I went g/f anyway. That was nine years ago and I've been ok. BUT just lately the bloating is back I feel and look pregnant which at 63 is impossible. What is wrong with me. I'm very careful what I eat and don't eat out. (I'm vegetarian.) Help please.

Looking at your past posts you have thyroid issues and have had your gallbladder removed and sleep problems, so there might, just might be a connection with you also having a low b12 count. Have you had it tested in any bloodwork?

Hi Lisahelen, Thank you for your reply. I had b12 tested two years ago. I have an appointment with a different endo in a months time and will see if she will do bloods. Never thought of b12. x

I was taking supplements when the dragon took bloods so, further to your advice I have stopped all supplements until next endo, appointment. If they don't do full bloods I shall ask my gp.

Personally I think the commercial foods in the GF isle are responsible for much post-diet bloating. If you look at the ingredient list there are many 'items' that mimic the elastic effect of gluten in order to present a palatable product. The consequence of many of these is gastrointestinal distresss. I'd say ease off the processed stuff and label read.

If the bloating doesn't disappear when you go to the toilet then consider a different angle - many hormonal problems can manifest water retention symptoms (so for you many post menopausal ones).
