Hi everyone.
Gluten Intolerance can often be due to Hashimotos thyroditis.
Have you all had your thyroid antibodies tested?
It is an auto immune disease that attacks your thyroid. Nearly 100% of people with it have leaky gut.
Just a thought.

hi Kate - it does seem there is a link (not completely sure whether or not it's as simple as a cause though). I have Hashimotos, diagnosed 20 odd years ago, and have recently been diagnosed with Coeliac Disease. I kind of vaguely (when I find the spare time ) wonder if one causes the other (and if so which is the most guilty party). I would say my symptoms of CD (back to my teens) have been going on much longer than my thyroid problems (diagnosed around 30). I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will explain that it's not as simple as one causing the other but am vaguely intrigued.

My scenario too but I'm thinking I was probably Hashimotos from teenage years although I too was not diagnosed until my 30's. Drs don't tend to look for it!
With Hashimotos you absolutely need to be gluten free. Nearly 100% of people with Hashimotos have leaky gut.
I've been working to heal mine so I can reintroduce certain foods.
Coeliac is definitely its own problem I think with Hashimoto's it's more gluten sensitive not coeliac.
The clever ones will put us right haha
