Hi there, has anyone had any tummy problems eating glutafin fibre bread? Really upset tummy lately and can't pin it down to anything 😬.

Hi I found that most gluten free breads are very high in fibre and as I suffer from IBSD my stomach cannot cope with the high fibre. Have tried making my own gluten free bread and this works out not so high in fibre and can eat a few slices of this but I must not overdo it. Hope this helps.

Yes it does thank you. I gave up eating it altogether for a while so perhaps I've gone overboard on the toast and sandwiches 😩. Xx

Hi Tomo

It might be the fibre content or it might be the thickener Hydroypropyl Methylcellulose. It seems to cause digestive problems for some people, along with some other additives like xanthan gum which crop up in some ready made gf foods.

I've used can than gum in my cooking but no problems but could be the quantity I guess!!

I also think I'm having a coffee problem too which I've never suffered with before! That's caused similar symptoms 😩

I have problems with a number of glutafin items including their flours. As yet I haven't had an appt with the dietician but it is something I will need to discuss with her, I was thinking it could be to do with the codex.

Would be good to find out if that's the case Sandra ! I've tried making my own bread but it ended up like rice pudding stodgy πŸ™„
