Hi there. Before you stop using them, try and use some dry eye drops (over the counter) 20 minutes before the Taptiqom as this can provide the eye with some protection against the glaucoma drops. You might find this provides you with some relief. You can also use the dry eye drops throughout the day as needed. If you cannot go on with the Taptiqom, then give the eye secretary a call to inform them about the reaction you are having to your drops as your consultant might want to change them.
Hello Maximi,
Sorry to hear you are having trouble with your new drops. I have used several different eye drops over the years and I have usually found that they are uncomfortable to start with and can take a few weeks for my eyes to get used to them. It could be you just need to get used to them or, dry eye drops migh thelp -as suggested by Keiran or, they might not suit you at all. In the absense of extreme reactions, I think you could give them a while to see if the comfort of your eyes improves.
I looked up your previous posts and saw that you have other health conditions and have been looking for a private consultant. Weighing everything up, it sounds like you would benefit from a private consultation, not least because you'd be able to have the time to for all your health matters to be considered at once. I have been fortunate enough to use the private route for some time now and the difference it made to the management of my glaucoma was unbelievable. I hope you find a private consultant in your area soon, if you have not already done so.
Good luck to you and please don't stop your drops without some sort of replacement for them.
Best Wishes, Laura
I rang the eye clinic today as my eyes are so sore and I think Taptiqom are causing stomach problems. I spoke to the secretary and she is getting in touch with him. She said there is a shortage of them so he would probably change them anyway. I have stipulated that I am not willing to continue with them, so just waiting for a reply now.I will use them until I get a reply.
