Hello, all, where is the best space saver to do Dvla visual test in Newcastle or Edinburgh? my one year licence is expiring soon.

Hello, When you receive the letter from DVLA, they will list the branches you can attend for the test. The initial test is always at Specsavers as they have the contract with them.

The Dvla only send me papers to fill,they have not send any lists of opticians to visit.

You wont receive a list until they receive your completed papers.

If you're Edinburgh-based Specsavers at Fort Kinnaird Edinburgh is on the DVLA list. I found them pleasant and efficient.

When you went to Spacesaver at Fort Kinnaird to do your Dvla test, did you pass the test?

Yes I passed! It took a few weeks after the test for DVLA to respond and my licence was nearing expiry date so I phoned DVLA to check that it was ok to continue to drive and a very nice Welsh lady said it's ok to drive while your test is being considered. Good luck with your test.

I went to fort Kinnaird, They were unable to do the eye test I called Dvla and I was told Fort Kinnaird has been removed from the Dvla list of spacesavers who can do the eye test.

I went to Fort Kinnaird Specsavers in February so there's been a change since then - rather annoying. I was also offered Morningside Road, Cameron Toll or Livingston. I hope this helps, good luck.
