I have Glucoma and therefore have a 3 year car licence. I have just done my Specsavers Fields test and wonder how long the delay time is this time. In 2021 (obviously due to Covid 19 and strike action) delays of well over 90 days were normal, but I just seem to ascertain how much time is now considered as normal. DVLA help line just say there may be delays!!
Has anyone reading this experience of the current situation?

Thank you for replying to my message. Congratulations on getting through the test. I guess 7 weeks is not too bad. It makes me wonder how many people are being processed each day. Obviously DVLA must look at the Specsavers results but it is not difficult to see if a pass is clear or if it is a borderline case or a failure! 35 working days seems like a long queue!! Jim
Thank you for replying to my message. That was quick! Let’s hope others reply with info about their experience over the past few months. By the way congratulations for passing this worrying test.
Hi I am on an annual recall unfortunately, but over the last few years the gap between test and result was between 2 and 4 weeks. However this year I took the test on 12th June and I am still waiting on result i.e. 5 1/2 weeks so far.
Just a touch stressful watching for the postie each day................Helpful to know that GCPizza has recent experience of 7 weeks - thanks for that.
Thank you for your reply. I can imagine how stressful it is having the dreaded DVLA “fields test” every year. I found it very useful to have a copy of each of my tests for the last 12 years. (I am 82) The DVLA do state clearly what is a pass, and to see my results each year and compare, at least gives me some hope. But like you, waiting for weeks is very stressful. Good luck. Jim
