Unfortunately not. Once you have lost vision to glaucoma it is gone for good. Surgery and eye drops can stop further vision loss but it can't replace the vision that is already gone.
I'd like to know too! Depends mainly on why failed of course...I know that since Cataracts removed a film has started to grow over one eye....but wondering if YAG or similar could remove that and make taking the test possible again..shall ask at next appt in September...if anyone knows more please share. Good Luck.
No there is no procedure to bring back the sight that has been lost. Hopefully drops, laser or surgery can stop further vision loss.
You say it was due to Glaucoma but was it? As you know Glaucoma is pressure inside the eye. If your pressures have been kept to an acceptable level, and they do like to keep the pressures below that of a normal eye according to my consultant, it could just be the test picking up what many people would fail on even without having the condition and who never had to notify them. Many people who have caught the condition early are not affected by it at all like me. Has your consultant told you that you have damage to the nerves? Best appeal asap on my opinion and get an independent assessment.
