Has anybody had cataract surgery and had Refractive outcome that has eye pressure
Refractive outcome: Has anybody had cataract... - Glaucoma UK
Refractive outcome
My cataract surgery in both eyes didn’t cause any problems. Having read your post, I looked up refraction after cataract surgery on the Net, It seems to be a recognised condition. Read like more surgery required. 🙄
I trust that all will go well for you.
Cannot have more surgery as I have high pressure they looming at a thing called piggy back lens which is a lens on top of lens but not sure again due to high pressure if I can have it so I will have to wear glasses all the time now instead of just for reading. I am so fed up
Do you have Glaucoma? If so are you on treatment to lower the pressure? Are the full time glasses a temporary aid until treatment decisions are made? I can well understand why you are feeling fed up. 💕
No glucomma did operation to prevent it but have single angle closure as well so little room in eye hence why they do not want to do further surgery in that eye. My eye pressure went high and they was worried it would spike. I am hoping other surgeon can help depends if it take up more room if he will do it and can they do it on nhs I have to gave other eye done bur gage put it if for 6 months see if I can cope with full time glasses permanently but seems I have little choice
So sorry you are having a difficult time and little chance of your eye condition being sorted. It seems like there is nobody on this Forum who can help. The only positive I can think of writing is that you will benefit using glasses full time. Maybe something will turn up in the future.
Sending Love 🙏
Thank you for your replies I just wish there is somebody out there that has been or going through same thing. Thankyou for understanding
I am going through same thing. I have glaucoma and had cataract surgery a year ago...one eye is OK but other eye the toric lens is in the wrong place and my vision isn't great. Its a bit of a long story and despite my high pressures I need two lots of further surgery. I’ve had to get a referral to a different hospital for what I now need as I lost trust in both the management of my cataract surgery and glaucoma.
My sight was long sighted before and the lens they have put in should have been long distance. Due to surgery I am now short sighted so one eye long one eye short I am now going to ask for s3cond opinion
Yes get second opinion. I ended up going to Moorfields private for an opinion as I had a number of issues which weren't being addressed. I then got the GP to refer me to Moorfields NHS on the back of the report for the treatment
When u say gp do you mean docter I have now been In touch with brecon concerns which is were we now live after living in Birmingham. This is were u had op all9w surgeon is based in hereford and really got a good reputation but effort gone wrong. I also have contacted his secretary and requested a second opinion he has said wearing glasses permanently will resolve problem it's not the answer. I really think there is someone to blame could be surgeon who measured incorrectly or the lens company are at fault. Wish I know what to do nxt
If you can afford it you could just go to a private consultant for a second opinion. Probably cost about £150-200 locally, it would be more in London, and they could advise. Or you could write to the to hospital either via PALS or the formal complaint process. NHS will likely fix mine as the hospital bodged mine completely, the lens was dislocated from the beginning and they left me in intense pain for 2 months until they diagnosed it, the surgeon managed to put it back in the bag but couldn't move it into position so it's all off centre in my eye.
I have a call today from conerns at hospital same as pals see what they say. Mine has not moved but he did say not quite cover the eye as I have Ruby ball shape eyes but it is in right place will get second opinion
Hi Janebirch1,
Sorry you are going through such a difficult time.
Just to say that when I was first diagnosed with glaucoma the waiting lists for appointments at Moorefields were huge so I booked a private appointment at Moorefields London.
The cost was £500. Luckily the private consultant knew my NHS doctor very well as he also works privately so my treatment continued on the NHS. I couldn’t afford to pay for a private operation.
Take care and I hope things improve for you.
I have high eye pressure not glucomma see what second opinion says
I was just making you aware of how much an appointment for a private Moorefields consultation in London may cost.
Apologies if this information was irrelevant.
No problem it's was nice to hear yourview
