Hi I'm still on Monopost drops eye pressures 21 and 18.

Got dry eyes and meiboman gland dysfunction.

I have shallow angles but laser still open.I have primary angle closure but no optic nerve damage.

Does any one have blurred vision with dry eyes.

I'm having 2 operations soon and I'm so worried I will wake up with no sight.

Any words of wisdom to ease the anxiety?

I too suffer from dry eye which certainly does cause blurry vision. I have POA glaucoma and have had about 10 surgical procedures in the past 6 years. I still have my vision although I do have a lot of optic nerve damage. The prospect of an eye operation is very scary but I have always told myself that I am much more likely to lose vision if I don't have it. Good luck and I wish you all the very best during your recovery period.

Dry eye syndrome will certainly cause blurring. If you have no nerve head damage now there is no reason why the dry eyes should influence the outcome of the surgery which I assume is filtration, trabs or stents, but of course they have their own risks which will have been explained to you (?). But a "wake up with no sight" would be unusually extreme!

Ah, if you search you will find that there might be temporary blurring consequential to general anaesthesia but I don't believe your glaucoma situation increases vulnerability. You are best to ensure the doctors dealing with both matters know your whole picture.

I had similar. Seems many get allergic to drops and this is the result. I had all you mention, including blurred vision. Would suggest demanding come off drops and use a tablet...Acetazolomide. Generally used pre and post ops. Very good at bringing pressure down.It can affect kidneys or liver, I believe. It is definitely worth a try. You should get relief within a week. Redness will go, flaky eyelids will go, vision will be better. Do let know how you get on.

I second this. Acetazolomide is not supposed to be for long term use but, being allergic now to all drops, it is amazing. Regular blood tests check for side effects

Great, thanks for backing me up. Some things we are not told. It is awful. I do not wish to be on drops. Had cataracts x2, recently Trab op in right eye which is the worse. Left eye pretty good. Been off everything for about 5 months. Good left eye pressure around 15 , right eye after Trab ok after 3 months. Just had eyes retested . Hope you all good

Had cataract x 2 and trying to avoid other surgery. Allergy to all drops developed after 10yrs. 2 years without any other treatment by the clinic drs as they didn’t know what to do! till I saw an actual consultant who panicked me by saying my optic nerve only had months at those pressures! Double quick time was 2 cataract ops and immediate acetazolomide. Pressure borderline high but vision ok so just living with the stress!
