Drops affecting eyelashes

I'm 41, had a combined trab & lens replacement in right eye 2 years ago and just lens replacement in left eye a few months later. Now the only drops I take are Dorzolamide timolol in the left eye, twice a day.I switched to the preservative free drops a few months ago but I think it's negatively affecting my lashes?

Right eye with no drops, the lashes are normal but the left eye, the lashes seem to be getting shorter! Maybe even slightly brittle.

Has anyone else experienced this? I almost miss the days when my lashes were positively affected by drops, oh the compliments I got!! I'm weighing up the pros and cons of returning to the drops with preservatives. I changed due to slight redness and slight increased dryness.

As someone who suffers from chronic dry eye after years of multiple drop use and many eye operations, I would never recommend anyone should use drops with preservatives if there is an alternative. Believe me, you don’t want your dry eye symptoms to get worse.

Belated reply, apologies. I agree wholeheartedly with the reply below. My lashes are so short and sparse now but if it's a case of longer lashes vs losing vision...no question! I haven't given up on mascara though and am even using a primer before mascara in an attempt to thicken them up! Would love to wear instant fakes or longer-life fakes but neither would be a good idea - at all. Preservative free drops are essential and I don't believe that they're the cause of our weedy lashes - I reckon it's the ingredients themselves that are in both kinds of drops. We just, as they say, have to suck it up, sadly.
