Hello just to keep you all posted who have had SLT or waiting for SLT.
I just went for my check up and my pressure is still below 20 at 18 & 19.
No further onset of glaucoma
If you have just been diagnosed and have open angle glaucoma please ask for SLT before you begin any eye drops. It has a higher success rate on a 'virgin' eye. I had been taking Monoprost for 2 years before my SLT just for high pressure. If I had known I would have insisted on SLT immediately just for the high pressure. As I did get to 28 in both eyes and it became glaucoma.
Hope you are all coping and forgetting about this disease and enjoy your life whilst taking your medications.
Kind regards valfrance

Thanks for the update Val, good to hear how you are doing there and keep up the good health. I have been on eye drops for so long now I doubt if I would benefit from SLT treatment but my opthamolgist hasn't ruled it out. My IOP is 19 and 20. She has me on Fixapost as well as Monopost now and hopes the pressure will come down further. Yes, I too would have asked to have SLT from the beginning if I'd known. My right eye has little vision now so I'm running on one 'engine' now 😅Regards, Tom
Lovely to hear your update Valfrance! Great to hear your pressures are staying low too! I’ve now have had SLT in both eyes so I’m curious to see what my pressures do over time, particularly as my consultant hopes I’ll have more rounds of SLT before the need for a bigger op in the future. Hope you are managing to enjoy life too! 👍🏻
