Lutein Zeaxanthin

The Vitabiotics supplement - Ultra Bilberry(500mg), Lutein(10mg) & Zeaxanthin(2mg) may support retinal health. The last two ingredients are from the carotenoid family and are naturally found in a variety of vegetables and fruit. Anyone have experience of this or thoughts on the potential benefits in glaucoma ?

Thank you.

I am taking a supplement with lutein and zeaxanthin. I also take B3 Nicatinamide. I feel it’s worth trying.

Hi Littletreasures,

Thank you for your reply.

How long have you been taking them and can you tell if they have helped in any way ?

Are the doses of Lutein 10mg and Zeaxanthin 10mg ?

Where do you get your B3 Nicotinamide from as I will look up the type and dose ?

Thanks again.

I started Macusave which contains lutein 10mg and zeaxanthin 10mg about 7 weeks ago.

I started the B3 nicotinamide about 5 weeks ago. I take the Health4all Purest. I’ve been taking 500mg per day. I think in the Australian study the patients took 3g per day so my dose is a lot less.

I can’t say I’ve noticed any difference. However I think the idea is to prevent further damage to the optic nerve so I suppose that isn’t something I’d necessarily be able to notice or quantify. I intend to continue taking these supplements until the results of the full study are known, which may be some years away.
