long term effects of drops

I’ve been prescribed Latanoprost once a day in both eyes and Brinzolamide/timolol (Azarga) in left eye twice a day. Will I need to add moisturising eye drops and if so which ones and when in my daily regime? I am due to have an iridotomy soon, will I still need drops after that procedure?

Hello TincressIt isn't necessary to put artificial tears/moisturising drops into your eyes, unless you already have dry eyes. If you feel after using the drops for a while that it makes your eyes more comfortable, then by all means do.

It is best to put them in half an hour before or after your glaucoma drops.

You may still need to use your glaucoma eye drops after the iridotomy. Your eye specialist will be able to tell you, once they know how effective it has been.

Hi tincress, hope you are well. i was given azarga a year ago, it is not preservative free. it has benzalkonium chloride in it and I did not do very well with this preservative. if you can ask for an alternative that is preservative free i would do so. the preservatives are not good for your eyes. lantaprost is preservative free if it comes in some vials that you use and discard each time you use them.

the alternative for me from azarga was alphagan however that has preservatives in... i could not get alphagan purite in france. alphagan was better than azarga for me. i had severe anxiety with azarga as it is a beta blocker. then i had slt.... laser.. that brought my pressure down. so i am only on one drop monoprost... that is actually lantaprost and i have preservative free monoprost.

below is the link on azarga...

the preservative free to alphagan that is cheaper in france is brimazed... i dont know if you can get that in the uk.
