Laser Peripheral Iridotomy check-up/follow-up

Checkup/followup for LPI which was done as a preventive measure for narrow angles this week. No signs of angle-closure glaucoma. What can I expect at this appointment and what tests if any? Thanks

Hello Bidman. They will naturally check your eye pressures and check the drainage angle to see if it is less narrow. These two things will help determine whether the LPI has worked. They may or may not ask you to do a visual field test.Depending on what they decide, it may be that you will be monitored on a yearly or two yearly basis either at the hospital or optician's.

When I had my follow up , I had visual acuity check where you read the letters out, pressure check and gonioscopy to check angles .I was discharged as angles open , and put back to care of the opticians yearly.

Same result as you today, I am well pleased. Thankyou to everyone for there kind support during what has been a worrying time. It has reminded me of the importance of regular eye tests. Will continue to support this forum and Glaucoma UK. Thanks
