New symptom after aqueous shunt implantation

My partner is experiencing numbness/stiffness in his face down to the jaw on the operated side. It creeps up in the evening and he seems worried and wiped out by it. Anyone know what might be going on? I've guessed congestion from his watery eyes, posture, stitches... So far. He's back at Moorfields Tuesday. Thanks!

Sorry to hear of your partners's problems after the shunt implant.

Have you got a contact number at Moorfields ?

I had a Preserflo micro shunt on 1st December and I was O.K until about 5 days later when I started having headaches mainly around the operated eye . When I phoned the hospital number I could speak to an eye Doctor. He checked out my eye which was fine. Last weekend I had a more severe headache and again I was checked at the hospital and advice given.

Noone seems to know what is causing my headaches, but they are improving.

I wonder if it takes a few days for the analgesia to wear off, or else perhaps it may be some drug reaction ? I will ask the Consultant next week.

Whenever I phone the hospital I find they are always very happy to give advice ,far better than worrying !

Absolutely agree. We will probably be OK (notice I said 'we'?) till Tuesday but I think he has a number to call, not sure. I was also thinking the pain relief wearing off can take a while. I know some experience that stitches that are dissolving can also pull and irritate. Hoping for a clear exam after the holidays.
