Hi,
My son (20) has had a trab and preserflo shunt in both eyes, one in Nov 2022 and one in Jan. He would like to go back to the gym but his consultant gave zero advice on what he can and can't do. Does anyone have any advice?

Hello. It will depend very much on what exercises he will be doing whilst at the gym. It would be best to check with his eye specialist exactly what he can do. If you call the eye secretary to get a message to his consultant and then they can come back to you. It may still be a bit early from his last operation in January, although there may be some of the exercises he could start now. The condition of your son's eyes will be taken in to account.
hi, is his vision stabilised now and the bluriness gone?
Sadly he has no usable vision now in his right eye and central vision in left eye went around last October so I guess you could say the loss has stabilised but our concern is keeping what he has left in the left eye.
Do what you can while you can - it would not matter what any doctr said to me there is nothing and nobody would stop me from DANCING

My Glaucoma was diagnosed late & pressures wouldn’t stay down. I have significant sight loss in my right eye too. After my trab I was told no gym for six weeks & for glaucoma in general no head below heart exercises & weight lifting can be tricky. If you go onto Glaucoma UK website they have a section for exercise which is helpful.
