Hi nat10, I had an I-stent in my right eye on 16 Nov. I had local anaesthetic so you don’t see or feel anything. It took about 15 mins for the procedure. They taped my eye shut after which I kept on overnight as I didn’t have it done until 4pm. The surrounding lid was slightly swollen the next morning and there are lots of drops to put in for the first week, which was a little uncomfortable the first day but ok after that. The stent is a little metal pipe they infect into the trabecular mesh to act like a little drain, it is injected in and two usually go in, you can’t feel them. I am happy for the Glaucoma Uk team to give you my details if you want to contact me further.

my main worry is having it under local anaesthetic. i had a trabeculectomy on my other eye 5years ago, so the drops are not of concern , did you have steroid drops?
