Acute Invasive Aspergillosis

Hi all

I just completed the poll about the type of aspergillosis I have, and I saw that there were others with the acute invasive version, but I don't know who or how recently they have been here. If this is something you have, let me know and we can share notes. I gather this is quite rare, so it's possible that all of those with this condition have moved on from the forum, but I thought I'd check anyway!

All the best

Ian

I had Aspergillus ochraceus 8 years ago, I did 10 months of Sporanox 400mg & have been 100% Cured

Very rough time during the 1st 2 years!

That's good to hear - I've not spoken to anyone that got to the point of 100% cured before, so that really is good news.

Ah, I don't have any issues with my lungs at the moment. My aspergillosis is in the CNS and brain, so slightly different.

OK I'll have a look at that thanks a lot.

CNS aspergillosis can be difficult to treat so it sounds like you are doing well. Newer antifungals are often quite effective and cure is achieved, though not as often as we would like.
