Why doesn't she recover from this?

My 16 year old niece had this fungal infection for 3 month now she went to the doctors and gave her prescription which were fluconazole tablets to be taken once a week for a month and topical miconazole cream, it goes away for a week or more and always comes back again. it's very itchy especially at night.

it's on the inside of both of her elbows, her neck, her fingers and her arm

You should return to your doctor for further treatment. If it is a fungal infection it can be tough to eliminate and will take longer than a week of treatment.

It might also need testing again as the fungus may have gone, leaving an itchy patch that needs a different medication.
