Candida - oral and vaginal

Hello. I have had vaginal thrush for some months now. I have finally been informed that I am suffering from Candida Glabrata which explains why I haven't responded to medication so far. Throughout all of this, I have been on antibiotics for various things which have obviously made the situation worse. I now have both vaginal thrush and oral thrush. I've never had either of these two things ever before - both antibiotic caused (broad spectrum).

I have now got Nystatin pessaries, and nystatin oral drops. I'm not seeing any improvement orally at all!

My questions:

1. Is it very alarming to have thrush in two places at once?!

2. Does oral thrush take a while to go? I am on day 3 of the oral drops and I really don't think I'm seeing a difference!

If it occurs in two places at once there might be an underlying cause - medication, diet for example. You should be examined by your doctor for further advice.
