My sister has been having issues with one of her nails for a couple of months.
She has been to GP, dermatologist, cosmetologist, surgeon and podologist. Initial assumption was it could be paronychia but it was denied. The nail stopped growing but it still collects mucus and causes pain and discomfort.
I'm attaching a pic showing the progression of this issue.
If anyone has an idea what this could be, what could be done or any other suggestion that may help, that would be greatly appreciated.

Needs to be diagnosed correctly if going to treat with something specific like antifungal. Otherwise I would use a treatment that isn't specifically antifungal. I used Excilor when my toenails were falling off. I was surprised to find it was not an antifungal specific ingredient but only salicylic acid. It worked wonders for many pathogens the pen did. Even pox on a pigeon & canker on his beak.
I think they have changed their ingredient but I would consider using something that kills various pathogens, whether bacterial or fungal etc. Especially if getting a sure diagnosis isn't possible.
