Has anyone looked into the possibility of having an Alpha 1 Anti-trypsin deficiency as a possible link to aspergillus etc? I'm being tested for it next week (its a simple blood test).

Never heard of this but will take not because I am going through lots of tests at the moment. One of which the nurse in my GP's surgery didn't know how to do(!) So, am always on the lookout for all these things. When you get your results please let me know what you find out.

Take care of yourself.

Hi karispitit,

I have abpa, bronchiectasis and a carrier for alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency, my consultant thinks its interesting - I find it a little over whelming sometimes.

All the very best
