Chronic fatigue syndrome feeling unbeatable

Ive struggled with CFS for several years and it's just been getting increasingly worse. I feel like anything I try is futile and the only way to get myself back to a normal energy level is copious amounts of caffeine which is so temporary. It's really hindering my life and I feel so unproductive. What has worked for you? I'm willing to try anything at this point.

I have some autoimmune issues that bring in chronic fatigue. I get it! I find myself often staring in the middle of the day even if I did sleep ok. Caffeine can only go so far….I did this three years ago when I fell ill. Drank a pot a day. Then I had to quit job for health and caffeine didnt have as much purpose. I’m finally in decaf now after a year of coming off of caffeine. Advice for CFS is hard. My doctor tells me to rest when I need to rest but it sometimes feels like is need to sleep all day! I do rest when my body tells me and I have been able to have a few good days here and there. I think with CFS …catch up sleep….doesn’t help. Getting active certainly can help if you are able. I would also suggest looking up LDN as a treatment.

Have you checked your vitamin B12 levels?. I found via a private blood test, I was loosing B12 .Even though I was taking high strength B12 & B6 at same time. And although I was still within the guide lines. The guide lines didn’t suit how I was feeling. Which showed up in the various side effects of lack of B12. I’ve now found a way of getting B12 into my system. By drinking Kefir 2 or 3 times a week so I’m now gaining B12 once again. Apparently B12 is one of the hardest vitamin to get into ones system.

Cut out the sugar, reduce the caffeine (it leaches iron out your system), eat fruit and oats and unprocessed foods. Have multivitamin tablets and drink plenty of water.

Routinely eat decent food 3 times a day. The worse the food, the worse the affect on the body. and don't skip tablets etc. take walks and get fresh air.

Think what you are spending your waking hours on, are you sleeping routinely. It all has an affect.

I could write an essay, but I'm in the middle of work. So apologies. Try this and keep a food and mood diary. I get tired 24hrs after anything with sugar. or if iron levels go low, etc etc etc.

Have banana's and oats

or even better banana, oat and date smoothies!

Just try your best. Its ok to be tired. but make your day count!

Hello there. Iv had CFS for going on 15-20 years. Can I ask if you've had your vitamin B12 checked? If not please do so. I take turmeric which over the years has helped alot. With CFS it's about energy management, so resting should be part of your day to day life. Please cut out your caffeine its no good! Try and eat well fruits and veg, no processed foods. I take amitriptyline which is a drug to control pain. CBT therapy has worked well for me over the years as they can teach you how to manage your energy levels. Honestly there is no one way to ease our symptoms, everyone is different depending on the severity of your symptoms. I also have coeliac disease which is an autoimmune disease which was picked up during a blood test because I had bowel problems. Hydrotherapy has worked well for me also, ask your GP about it. Keeping warm has also been good for me aswel, our bodies don't do well in the cold. I do hope you can find your way with this, it can be a mine field. ENERGY MANAGEMENT is the key here, you need to accept that your body can't do what you want it to do, it took me a long time to accept that. Be good to your body.
