Hi

I have not been very well for a while and waiting for a referral to see a specialist.

Over the weekend i suddenly started to feel very unwell, it’s felt like full blown flu, extreme body aches, chills. Then the following day I wake up with temple pain in left side and also pain in jaw.

It couldn’t have been flu blown flu though as the symptoms didn’t last very long.

I still feel run down and temple pain won’t go! Do you think it’s worth phoning my GP or pointless as I’m waiting for a referral?

Thank you for any advice

Sorry to hear you're so poorly. Temple and jaw pain maybe referred pain from tight trapezius muscles. This is a very likely explanation. Google trapezius trigger points. Stretching and massage and relaxation should help. How is your posture? Rule this out before contacting doctor. Many doctors won't be aware of this.

When I first started suffering from M.E. (before I even knew what I had) I would go down with flu symptoms every few weeks. I couldn't work but it only lasted 2 or 3 days and then I was back to normal (my normal that is)It was this that led to my being diagnosed. I don't get it so much now (though I did have a bad one a couple of months ago - don't know now what it was about as I now have a few more diagnosis under my belt!!
