I hope you are all doing as well as possible. I have TGN on both sides. I am on amitryptiline and started tegretol recently for it as the pain around my eyes and headaches were off the charts.
I wanted to ask does anyone get red flushes up their cheeks to under their eyes? Nearly like sunburn. So much so it stings. I have been getting them and they are really uncomfortable. I have a lot of other medical conditions but thought it made sense that this was connected to the TGN.
Thanks for listening,

Hi, sorry your in so much pain. I haven't experienced the burning feeling you described. I was on carbamazepine for a few years, they were the only med that worked for me. I hope you get a medication that will give you relief, it took me a while trying all different tablets and in the end I couldn't take it anymore after a bad episode so I opted for the gamma knife. I've not had an attack since February but get a constant tingling feeling in my face which I can live with. Stay positive and I hope you find peace.
Diagnosed with CFS 2011 then fibromyalgia last year. H
Just started getting red flushed cheeks and across my nose. Skin burns. Went to GP last week and she is at a loss what it is. Sent me for blood tests to see if anything shows up.
Hi. I have left sided TN, and I get a flushed and swollen cheek on the left when I’m heading for/in an attack. Doesn’t sting, but I’ve had to change my glasses - when the old ones hit the swollen cheek they triggered the zaps. I’ve found a cool gel mask helps a bit - not frozen, just in the fridge.
