I have read your blog and the first thing that springs to mind is that of your symptoms sound like LOW B12 - Low Thyroid and LOW VitD. I too was diagnosed with Fibro back in 2000 and with Hashimotos in 2005. Once my thyroid treatment was OPTIMAL - and the supplementation of the above was sorted - the pains just ebbed away. Also I went Gluten Free over 3 years ago.

Gluten can create inflammation in the gut which can travel to anywhere in the body causing pain and other conditions. Healing the gut is key to curing any condition. I was diagnosed with Crohns over 40 years ago.

Are you obtaining copies of your blood tests so you can monitor your health yourself ? You are legally entitled to them. You maybe surprised with some results that you have been told are normal. If you have results of the above mentioned - then I am more than happy to assist.

I am not a Medic - you can click onto my name above and read of my journey to wellness. It has been a tough one - but one that I am pleased to have sorted as I hurtle towards 70 :-)

Have you read Dr Sarah Myhill's book on Chronic Fatigue ? You may find some of her ideas helpful - and will endorse my thoughts above too. Her website is full of excellent information on lifestyle and health.

What do they test when they check your thyroid ? - if it is only the TSH then that is only part of the story - you also need the FT4 - FT3 and Thyroid Anti-bodies tested - Anti-TPO and Anti-Tg. The TSH is a Pituitary Hormone - not a thyroid one. Are you on Thyroid medication ? - it seems unusual to have the thyroid tested every 3 months otherwise.

Do you have your results for VitD and B12 ? B12 needs to be around a 1000 and VitD around 100. You are legally entitled to all your blood test results so you can monitor your own progress.

Did you manage to look at Dr Myhill ?

Yes I know about AS - it is auto-immune. I too have auto-immune issues - with Crohns - Hashimotos. As they like to hunt in packs it could be worth eliminating Hashimotos ( Auto-immune Thyroiditis ) at the very least rather than being left with a diagnosis that may be incorrect. Also I would check your VitD.

Sorry to be so ignorant - but what are the tests for fibromyalgia - apart from the 14 or so matching points ? Have things changed ?

Wishing you well with your Blog ....
