The start of the day I felt pretty good , but as the day as gone on I have started to feel useless, whilst my wife was working I decided to change the bedding and put everything in the wash I started to get breathless and feel useless. I can't cope with stress anymore its like my health as taken over everything 😭

We all want to run, but have to learn to walk first, so if you start from a low activity base and increase the time and/or the energy level required and built it up, you will have more success and not feel so frustrated with yourself. Your motivation is intact, and the resilience is work in progress .. and did the GP offer any support/ideas??

Hi Littlecook

I totally understand what you are saying! Sometimes a burst of energy you think you can do everything. The mind is great for that! Pace yourself my friend, I do things little by little. Sheets off, have a sit down and a drink. Sheets in machine another sit down etc. please know you are not alone it’s just a new you. Stress is awful but please try and be kind to yourself. Glad you are going to get some help after seeing your GP too. Positive steps for you 👍

YAY, you did it Littlecook, you explained how you felt, made your GP sit up and listen to you, and take some action on your behalf. Not everybody can do that .. it hurts our pride. All the best for the 'action' next week.

understand completely ,and interestingly having been very independent all my life , a lot of very everyday things feel very stressful and yes little things like changing the bed wrestling the duvet cover.. can feel overwhelming … I have negotiated a reduction in my Hydroxycarbamide and I do have a few co morbities as they say which knock you down each time…but I am looking for little glimmers and something done each day to be pleased with.. keep going and look for the little things.. that lift your spirits.L

I have the same symptoms that you have. Post Exertional Malaise is one of the symptoms I was diagnosed with along with FND. I was taught by a medical professional how to manage that symptom. It is all about constant resting throughout the day and managing your heart rate. It has only helped me to understand what is going on with my health when I over do it. I still struggle all the time.
