Does anyone have a terrible time with their body temperature? I know my circulation has gotten worse in general but as the weather is cooling down I feel cold, like I want to layer up and get a blanket but I’m sweating. It’s like when you have the flu and you get cold sweats from a fever. But it’s never ending.
On the opposite side, I was cold out when it was summer here in Texas (so obviously not cold weather).
I know a lot of you on here and far more well read about FND and other health issues, and I’d love advice. But also I just wanted to pout, because I’m in a string of lousy days and my body temperature is making me feel worse, as well as driving my poor husband to frustration as well.

My body temperature is, post FND, all over the place. Before I was always freezing - never turned the heating off in the summer in my life. Now I'm freezing one minute and then (ugh) dripping in sweat the next. I layer clothing so that I can quickly strip off/add more on asap. Being Irish I'm really not built for heat. Here's hoping your string of bad days finishes soon.
I believe it is another symptom of FND. Easter here was very warm but i sat under a throw as i was cold. I too can just get cold then i am boiling, i too wondered if in fact i had a fever or flu as it was very much like that where one moment your cold the next boiling. I have always been an average person to temperature, neither too cold nor too warm, now it is whatever.
Have you considered you may be of that age to be peri-menopausal? Sorry to bring this up if you are far too young. I was a bit of an idiot and totally missed the signs until I watched a programme on the BBC and then the light bulb went on. You can have symptoms up to 10 years before the actual menopause.
I'm on HRT patches now and doing much better. Just remember that not everything you have will be FND. See your doctor.
I have this issue as well. It's because we have trouble regulating our body temperature with this and because of the nerve things. Also because of the pain we feel. The sweating is from what I have been told. I don't feel cold so my husband has to regulate that for me. I do the layering too. I am of an Irish family as well. Hope things get better.
Me too🥵🥶! I also have fibromyalgia and temperature regulation is a symptom of this. The other consideration , besides menopausal cause is side effects of medications. For example, Duloxetine( used for anxiety, depression and pain relief) can cause overheating/ sweating.
Having a number of issues with my immune system I have spent most of my life 'hot' - not feeling it but hot hands, drying without towels when caught in the rain, couldn't cuddle babies (they got uncomfortable fast) never managed to make pastry 'hot'.
Now - I'm 3 months into an induced menopause and I'm getting 'cold flushes' and Yep they're one of the 30 odd symptoms of the menopause! (I'm wearing slippers - I NEVER wear slippers my feet get too hot!)
But as FND addles almost every system in out bodies I can't see why it can't muddle up the hypothalamus as well.
Yes my body has trouble regulating it’s temperature. I feel hot, then very cold and my feet and hands are very pale. I feel a water trickling sensation and sometimes a burning sensation. Nothing has helped it
All I can suggest is that you research how menopausal women cope with hot flushes. You might not have the same cause but the coping mechanisms for the same symptom should be relevant (other than all the advice to ask for HRT )
Yes I do too. Mainly overheating randomly. I’m male too so no peri wot not here. I can’t cool down sometimes. Other time’s I’m cold and can’t get warm.
I have just posted a question about this same problem. It causes me a lot of issues. My skin is really hot to touch. I shiver like I have the flu. Usually a rash on my chin and neck with flushed cheeks. I’m constantly wrapped up in layers with a small hot water bottle shoved under my top. I live in Ireland so we don’t have severe winters but I have found this winter miserable. Not sure what the answer is to this. I take paracetamol which usually helps but I’m wondering is it linked to FND?
