Hi I was recently diagnosed with FND after 20 years of on and off symptoms. My main symptoms are tremors and weakness in my legs. My question is I have symptoms for anywhere from days to weeks to months and then have years symptom free. Has anyone with this diagnosis have years of being symptom free?

FND Diagnosis
Hi sorry to hear about your struggles. My main symptoms are the same as yours, tremors and weakness. I've never been free of symptoms and they just seem to be slowly progressing. They are much worse when under stress, which I think is pretty typical.
That is fantastic that you are having long periods of being symptom free, you are lucky in that regard.
Thank you for the response. If you don’t mind me asking how long have you had your symptoms? Yes, I’m my experience I have had flare ups and then I always go back to my baseline for months to years. They’ve always thought it was MS until this last episode where I got diagnosed with FND. However that’s the link I’m not seeing as I research FND is people going back to their baseline. I’m sorry to hear about your symptoms too.
Hi CrystalBeach1 yes my symptoms are similar to yours - tremors and weak right side but also light headedness and numb teeth and sometimes right side of head feels like it’s pulling to the right. My symptoms started 16 years ago but I have as wrongly diagnosed and put on epileptic meds for 11 years which made me sleep loads and never really sorted my symptoms. I was re- diagnosed in 2019 and taken off all medication and had only very mild symptoms when my period was due until perimenopause. I’ve discovered I’m very low on progesterone so my gp is letting me try a HRT tablet with bioidentical progesterone every day . I hope it’s the answer but who knows!
Yes, I had several years of remission. Then after several viruses back to back, they came back. Back under control, mostly, with increased gabapentin
