Severe pressure in head when move?

Hi all

My mum has been diagnosed with FND - and is really, really struggling as I know many of you also are.

One of the main things affecting her is a severe pressure in her head when she moves at all. Like from sitting to standing.

It also seems to make all her various neurological symptoms explode. When she describes it - the effect makes me think of a snow globe when you shake it.

I wanted to ask:

1. Does anyone else experience this (from what I've read it doesn't seem to be one of the more common symptoms)?

2. If so, is there anything you've found that helps at all?

Thank you

She can be evaluated with a tilt table test for POTS dysautonomia. Has she also had a spinal tap ?

Thanks for your reply ToesKnees - no she's not had a spinal tap. What would that be for?

She has had several MRIs/scans - none of which has showed anything up to explain it.

I think if doctors suspected anything they would have ordered the correct test but I do wonder about POTs maybe you can ask a cardiologist?

Thanks for your reply. I wouldn't be so sure....her care hasn't been great to date (we're in UK). But yes, def worth looking into. Thank you.

I think when they do a tap they check for opening preasure and that maybe a helpful tid bit of information. I might start with POTs investigating and other cardio abnormalities first as it's less invasive to check and she may respond well to treatment for it. Also unless you have exhausted all other diagnosis I wouldn't be so quick to jump on FND. I wish you and your mother the best outcome 🙏
