Windy days

I know this is such a random thing, but does anyone else have more FND problems on windy days? I'm not sure if it's because my line of sight is disrupted because of my hair, or that windy days just make me more tired, less able to concentrate to walk, I also get more jerky.

Hi there,Temperature change is a big thing with it's effects on my wife's FND, so don't be surprised at what it does to affect your symptoms also.

Wishing you a lovely new year.

Warmest wishes always.

Windy days and changes in air pressure can be a problem for people with migraine so if you've also been diagnosed with migraine it would be worth asking about this in support groups. I have a friend with dystonia who also finds windy days more challenging and symptom provoking.

Hi Moniren, yes, windy days affect my fnd as well. Even if I stay at home I feel worse. If I go outside on a windy day it causes terrible headache( especially when it's cold ) due to my deviated septum. Changes in air pressure or constant low air pressure affect me very badly. Maybe that's why I feel much worse between September and March. Currently where I live is a very low air pressure + wind and I feel totally exhausted, I have some issue with my muscles, movement is affected as well. Concentration in general is gone... Take care

Yep, agree with everyone else. My Motor FND is a disaster when the barometric pressure drops below 1000mb which is when Low Air Pressure causes all the windy, stormy, colder weather. It gives me total `Brain Fog', slow in thinking, moving, loss of energy and drained to the point I have to just rest. High Humidity both in Summer & Winter can also trigger issues along with Low Air Pressure. However, I find High Air Pressure above 1000mb improves my function? I suspect that on Low Air Pressure days the body has to work that bit harder to circulate the blood/oxygen and because Motor FND is already struggling with the coordinating the normal daily activities this added stress is what causes the meltdown?

Sorry no real advice, just know it is possible and I find hydrating more can help boost the blood pressure circulation & recovery time.

Be kind to yourself, Look for the calm in the storm.
