FND and 'unexplained symptoms' - same thing?

Hi guys, quick question: are these two the same?

I imagine they're probably not. But I went to see a neurologist recently that told me, 'I don't want to tell you you have this, that or the other because it wouldn't be fair on you and wouldn't help you', so he basically explained that I have 'unexplained symptoms' which is apparently not that uncommon.

He suggested a seeing a psychologist to basically retrain my brain, a graded exercise routine and basically just take it a day at a time and try to build myself up again.

For all intents and purposes, I felt like that's what he was telling me but didn't actually say 'FND'. All of the doctors/specialists I've seen in the last 6 months have prepared me for that particular diagnosis so I was surprised when he didn't actually say that's what it was in those words.

Anybody else had the same diagnosis?

I'm asking as today is a particularly bad day for me. My biggest issue is a really bad breathing problem, dizziness, blurry vision, general fatigue/weakness and never feel well-rested. I woke up this morning and was having to make my body breathe. Yesterday, I actually felt like my breathing was the best it had been in months. It's like it doesn't know what it's doing one day to the next!

Thanks Renwick, I wasn't sure as he avoided saying those actual words/abbreviations.
