My friend has very unusual symptoms, diagnosed with Functional Neurological Symptoms 18 months ago but we are not convinced. The symptoms continue to change. He has swirling/movement sensations - eg feels like the mouth is shutting tight, chin is extending, swirling down to chest and pushing in, swirling in head and lines pushing in causing headaches, lines through body including private parts and bottom. This has been going on for 5 years now. The sensations do not allow sleep, he gets sleep though a heck of a lot of medication.
Does anyone know of what might be the cause, know of someone who has something similar???? Desperate for some answers.

Oh my..... Those are bad symptoms. It sounds like FND because your friend is still alive after 5 years of it. The changing symptoms sound like FND too. Perhaps the prescription drug amitriptyline would help him sleep and reduce his FND symptoms.
Thanks for your reply Pickleweed .... already on Quitiapine, a lot, simply to get sleep, along with some ...pam drugs, the sensations are so very strong.
It's strange, can't find anyone else with FND/S who has just sensory sensations .....
