I would like to say that I agree with you and your doctor, but I can't, unfortunately. We have far too many FND friends who are incontinent and/or in a wheelchair due to loss of feeling or control over legs. Have you checked out the following websites:

neurosymptoms.org

fndhope.org

There's a list of symptoms and I'm sorry, but I'm sure you will find your symptoms listed there. Might I suggest that you join one or two of the Facebook groups and talk with others who share your symptoms. I might help you as you try to come to terms with this horrible disorder. Best wishes

Hi, please see link : neurosymptoms.org/misdiagno...

FND should only be diagnosed on positive functional signs, not just because of normal test results, as seems too often to be the case, these days. Abnormal test results and positive neurological signs ( eg reflexes ) should warrant further investigation. Sadly, these abnormalities are often ignored these days, too, in favour of a rapid 'functional' diagnosis and signing off from neurology. I suspect financial constraint in the NHS is forcing such actions. After recent experiences with 2 friends in hospital ( not neurology related ) I am finding the corners being cut and facts being excluded, in order to pronounce people as medically fit for discharge, when they are clearly still severely ill and need readmitting, extremely scary. x

I'm not shaw where you got that FND stand for made up from , in the past doctors thought maybe people where making up Thier illness but they have reilised it is a real condition FND stands for function Neurological Dissorder and is now classified as a Neurological Dissorder with no known cause . If your doctor think you are making it up you realy need to change doctors . This is real we suffer and no one in thier right mind would ever want to make up having FND I know I wouldn't ..Lots of other with FND also are wheelchair bound doesn't mean it's not FND but never give up always get new test in case any other scans show something in them .
